Sandrian, part 2 [05 Jun 2005|12:18am]

[ mood | listless ]

Title: Sandrian
Author: thepillowman
Brief synopsis: Next part. The story breaks down just about...here. Strange sparkly men and homoeroticism for kids. Lovely stuff.

sandrian pt.2Collapse )

Criticism, as always, greatly appreciated.

Edit: HTML fucking hates me. Ignore it.

Title: sandrian, for now
Author: </a></a>thepillowman
Brief synopsis: er, yeah. futuristic-style strangeness, with a bit of nirvana love thrown in to scare the kiddies. written for performance by 8-12 year-olds, maybe 13-16s at a push. this is the first 10 minutes of what end up at about and hour long. all names definitely subject to major change, as i don't really like any of these.

Title: "Try Again (or The Actor's Tour-de-Force)"
Author: chale
Brief synopsis: Andrea and Nick find themselves having this same conversation at three different times in their lives.

Status: Complete. For the most part. There are a few things here and there that need to shined, but overall, it's "done." It was performed December 2003, to rave reviews. :)

Sigh. Love is my legs and you are my love!Collapse )

Title: "The Dating Wormhole"
Author: chale
Brief Synopsis: Two restaurants. 3 couples. In relationships, communication is key. Alex and Andrew find themselves at a trouble spot in their relationship. Neither listens to the other. So they find themselves stuck in the dating wormhole.

Status: In revision. There are a couple scenes that I'm having trouble with. Any suggestions? I know my theatre prof, Ronn, loved the concept. It's just gotta be smoothed down as it's a little rough still.

Cue the Twilight Zone music. :o)Collapse )

Okay, first post here! woot. :o)
Here's something that I've been batting around. It started as a negotiation that I just had to write down and get it out of my head... recently, I haven't had much inspiration for it. So I thought I'd share it and see what y'all think. :o)

Title: "Once Upon A Time" (working title)
Author: chale
Brief synopsis: Matt and Alexis are best friends and roommates. A little "Will & Grace"-ish. Negotiation over the book "Wicked" by Gregory Maguire.

Hello from liffyboy (NEW MEMBER) [16 May 2005|05:58pm]

Hello to everyone in the Islington Flat
I am currently preparing a seminar on Sarah Kane and thought I would type her name into the interests search. Through the search i came across this community and when i saw that it said "for anyone who writes, or would like to write, scripts for the stage, radio, television or film" i decided i'd like to join. The reason being is that I am planning on starting a science fiction script soon for a feature trilogy. So i was hoping to get advice from other members about how to write it or find someone who is an expert on science fiction that could help me write it.

Also, going back to Sarah Kane, my seminar is on Thursday and i will be investigating her plays and their context, particularly 'Blasted' and '4.48 Psychosis' so if you have anything to mention about Kane and her plays, please let me know in case it can shed some more light.

Thank You
Eilif Gustafson

In which I actually managed to write something [14 May 2005|07:39pm]

For the first time in aaages, I've managed to start writing something and not have it die a horrible death after the first page. Which is great. So I thought I'd post the first bit of what I've done to liven this place up a bit. I see we've got a few more members, which is lovely. Feel free to post anything and everything you want.

Title: Doesn't have one. Sorry. I'm getting there.
Author: dinenglamor
Brief synopsis: It's the first part of the first act, because I work methodically. There aren't scenes - the whole thing happens in real time - but it's the first section, if you will. Violet's a rather cynical bitch of a homeless woman and Clive's a rather non-confrontational hotel worker.

In absence of answers [03 May 2005|06:03pm]

Title: In absence of answers
Author: dinenglamor, surprisingly.
Brief synopsis: Wow, the fun part to fill in. This would be a short scene near the beginning (or possibly the actual beginning - I'm working on it) of a play. Smith is an intentionally insulting name. You're basically supposed to have no idea what's going on. If you do, you're doing better than me.

The tension...Collapse )

ok. let's get the ball rolling.

title: a conversation
author: thepillowman
brief synopsis: this is a short monologue in which a young man talks to the body of his older, drug-dealer friend. sort of written in the style of philip ridley. actually, it's a bit of a mercury fur wannabe piece. punctuation used to indicate delivery, not to conform to the rules of grammar.

a conversationCollapse )

lashings of criticism would be greatly appreciated.
